ECRO and the organizers invite you to Reykjavik, Iceland for the 19th International Symposium on Olfaction and Taste, 22-26 June 2024. The venue will be the Harpa conference center located at the water front of Reykjavik Harbor (https://www.harpa.is/en/about-harpa). This award-winning building was inaugurated in 2011 and offers a picturesque setting for our symposium.

We welcome you to several days of intense exchange of information via talks, posters, and discussions. ISOT takes place every four years and offers a unique opportunity for all of us active in different areas of chemosensory science to meet and discuss what has happened in the labs and in the field. We welcome participants from all areas of chemosensory research representing different natural and model systems and encourage younger generations of scientists to take this opportunity to meet and talk about science.

ISOT 2024 is a meeting of the host organization ECRO and its two associated organizations, the Japanese Association for the Study of Taste and Smell (JASTS) and the Association for Chemoreception Sciences (AChemS). We also welcome our colleagues from the Australasian Association for Chemosensory Science (AACSS).

Reykjavik and Iceland offer a beautiful and exciting meeting venue that is easily accessible via nonstop flights to Keflavik airport. Reykjavik is Europe’s northernmost capital offering many cultural activities, great restaurants serving local specialities and international cuisine, and a bustling nightlife. Reykjavik is only a few minutes away from amazing natural sceneries surrounding the city. Iceland’s nature is dramatic and stunningly beautiful, inviting you to spend some extra days in conjunction with the conference.
